It may be too early to call, but I think I have a boyfriend. And surprise of surprises, he does not work for Kroger. Date #4 is tonight, but we have one lined up for Friday and for Sunday, and I'm sure I'll talk to him on the phone on Saturday too.
Dating is FUN!

Why are boys so confusing?
So, of course, I have a new crush. When do I not? And of course, I'm having issues. I can't read signals, and he hasn't asked me out. But, he makes it a point to talk to me on IM every single day, and he's the first to comment on anything I do on Facebook. He also asked for my input on his new apartment.
People have told me that it's very hard to talk him into things, but he tends to go when I ask him. Case in point- last Friday night. I had an event with Give Back Cincinnati to raise money for our trip to New Orleans in August. I invited a bunch of people, but no one showed. Knowing this, and that I would be the only one in the crowd he would know, A came and hung out with me the entire night. We went from chatting on the patio, to talking at a table, to dancing inside until we closed the place down.
He hates dancing and having his picture taken, but did both with me. I also got his number in a round about way, and he did tell me it would be changing, but that when it does, he will make sure I have the new one.
I'm so confused. I'm not sure if he realizes I like him. I flirt constantly, but he's a little thick headed. I haven't asked him bluntly if he wanted to go on a date with me because I realize he has to spend every available minute studying for the CPA exam. He did tell me he's taking the four parts as fast as possible so he can get back to a normal social life. He did agree to lunch with me in a couple of weeks (after part 1 is done).
People say he's quiet, but we haven't run out of things to talk about, and I am not monopolizing the conversation. I'm stuck here, and afraid to move forward, because I don't want to stop talking to him daily, and I'm afraid if he's not interested like I think he is, that's what will happen.
He may say no, just because he has a policy of not dating people at work (he's been burned in the past), but I think I've countered every argument he's tried. We'll see if I ever get out of limbo.

Draft #1
Debating sending through Facebook messages since I don't have his number:
So, I do like you as more than a friend, and was wondering if you were interested in me. It's fine either way; if you do, we should go out and do something. If you're not interested in being more than friends, that's okay too. I will just get over myself and we can stay friends.
Or:
I have a crush on you, do you like me too?
Circle YES NO MAYBE and send back to me before 6th period.
Lol, probably not on the second one, but it's funny to think about, and kind of how I feel right now.

Friday shall decide it
So, I was chatting at work today, and one of the guys of my aquaintance told me he just wanted to keep saying things to keep me laughing. Hmmmm . . . it was a pretty random conversation, I may post it here later, but I think I'll keep this on the DL for now.

Is it me or my mouth?
Well, that was fun while it lasted. 3 dates and then nothing. It's very hard to start something if the guy won't contact you back. Oh well, moving on . . .
So I have this situation at work. Apparently, we're an old married couple because we like to hang out. I get teased quite a bit by several people, and I'm not sure how he's treated. Why can't people understand that two single people (of the opposite sex) can just enjoy each other's company, and it not mean anything? There really is no drama, and I'm afraid other people are going to start it.
It's not often I don't feel like one of the smartest people in the room (sorry if that sounds conceited), but he really challenges me, and forces me outside my comfort zone, and I like that. Already this month, I've tried Vietnamese food and swing dancing, and enjoyed both. They are not things I would have tried on my own. I'm looking forward to trying the Serpent's Mound later this season.

Another first
Witgen, Ann E [3:39 PM]:
so, i almost got into a bar fight last friday
Fleury, Allen E [3:39 PM]:
nice
Witgen, Ann E [3:40 PM]:
yeah, there was this ridiculous gay guy that was jolly and buying everyone a round of drinks and a lot of fun early on in the night
he was a little pompous- told us about his law degree from stanford several times
Fleury, Allen E [3:41 PM]:
yeah, people like that are really annoying
if they like to brag about how impressive they are, you know that inside they're looking down at you as a lesser person
Witgen, Ann E [3:42 PM]:
it was ok, he bought me a drink. lol
so, as the evening wore on, he drank more and got belligerant with everyone
then he started on me
i'm not going to say i was drunk, but i def wasn't sober
he was picking on everyone, and pushing buttons. i told him he was being snarky
which he was, but he took offense to the term
started berating me about my weight
which i've worked too hard on to be called fat anymore
did i mention i was drinking?
Fleury, Allen E [3:44 PM]:
what was he saying to people?
Witgen, Ann E [3:44 PM]:
you know, i don't remember. random stuff about clothing and looks and smarts
Fleury, Allen E [3:45 PM]:
well, if he wants to get personal like that, just tell him he has some brown stuff on his lip
Witgen, Ann E [3:45 PM]:
all i know is my friend was standing there, and he told him "we're two of the most easy going ppl here, and if you've pissed us off, you really had to work at it."
Fleury, Allen E [3:45 PM]:
lol
Witgen, Ann E [3:45 PM]:
by this time, it's me and the drunk gay in the middle of a circle of gays egging me on
i don't remember all the specifics of what i said, but i know i was not repeating myself, which really annoys me when people are arguing
we're nose to nose at this point, and i think he called me a fat bitch
Fleury, Allen E [3:46 PM]:
was he?
Witgen, Ann E [3:46 PM]:
yes
Fleury, Allen E [3:47 PM]:
you should have smacked him to the ground
Witgen, Ann E [3:47 PM]:
i told him "i'm gonna fuck you up!"
Fleury, Allen E [3:47 PM]:
wow
Witgen, Ann E [3:47 PM]:
i was going to hit him, and my friend pulled me back
by this time, i was sobering up, so i did walk away
Fleury, Allen E [3:48 PM]:
that's probably for the best
Witgen, Ann E [3:48 PM]:
yeah, i could have taken him
Fleury, Allen E [3:48 PM]:
you could have ended up spending a night in jail and an arrest record
I bet!
Witgen, Ann E [3:48 PM]:
who's going to press charges on a girl?
i swear to you, that is the first time i have ever been in an arguement at a bar
Fleury, Allen E [3:49 PM]:
probably that jerk if you hit him first
Witgen, Ann E [3:49 PM]:
i am usually the happy drunk, amusing everyone around me
yeah, he was a pussy
Fleury, Allen E [3:49 PM]:
it would be pretty lame if he did, but doesn't sound like he wouldn't
Witgen, Ann E [3:50 PM]:
i guess (fortunately) we'll never know
Fleury, Allen E [3:51 PM]:
yeah
Witgen, Ann E [3:51 PM]:
it was good times
Fleury, Allen E [3:51 PM]:
good story though
Witgen, Ann E [3:51 PM]:
i know i provided a show to the gays, and usually it's the other way around
Fleury, Allen E [3:51 PM]:
it's nice to give back
Witgen, Ann E [3:51 PM]:
yeah. that was our catchphrase for the rest of the week
"i'm gonna fuck you up"
Fleury, Allen E [3:52 PM]:
well I have to go meet with a clerk, and make all this travel expense worth it!
lol
Witgen, Ann E [3:52 PM]:
have fun, hope you feel better now!
Fleury, Allen E [3:52 PM]:
thanks!
